One of the best out-of-town excursions KAYA had with its clients is in (place). The principle of having fun in recovery being a part of KAYA’s Unified Treatment Model, allows clients to naturally divert cravings and alleviate negative thoughts. As a result, clients can learn gratitude and have a better outlook in life. Scientific studies also reveal that going to a place where a one hasn’t been before releases dopamine as well as serotonin, which many acknowledges to be the “happy hormone”.

The base of the cross. It shows the Philippine Revolutionary Heroes.

Mt. Samat was the site of one of the most bloody battles of US and Philippine forces against the Japanese in 1942. Along with the fortified grounds of Corregidor, Mt. Samat was the last stronghold of the Allied forces in the region. After months of fighting and with the increasing number of Allied deaths, the sick and the starving,  this headed to the single significant surrender of the United States in history. The surrender of Allied forces led to the infamous Bataan Death March.

The place offers a magnificent view of the rest of Bataan.
